Alaska – Truly God’s own abode

It has become a ritual to visit a National Park to celebrate my birthday in the last few years. This time it was Alaska’s Denali National Park. But to our surprise, when we landed in Anchorage the entire state appeared like a wildlife refuge. There were moose running wild like rodents and we even bumped into a black bear in a hotel lobby. If there is a place to live with wildlife, then it has to be Alaska (of course the other place I have always wanted to visit is Africa which I am guessing is a similar setting with different fauna).
The highlight of the trip was an impromptu decision to fly into Katmai National Park from Homer to see the salmon run and grizzlies lined up in accordance to their dominance hierarchy against the river current to catch fish.
