Powerbookmedic sells Apple notebook spares. When I checked with the genius bar, the quote was for $700 including labor and materials to replace the broken 17″ LCD screen. But Powerbookmedic sells the screen for less than half that price and also gives a chance for folks like me to rip apart the notebook with a step by step video instruction.

I can’t believe another year just brushed through….

Not that I get motivated every beginning of the year to some scribble on this blog and forget all about it [considering the last post was in Apr 2008], but it is just that 2008 was one of the most eventful years of my life.

I got married to Priya, had a surgery, bought a house and finished implementing one of the most demanding projects I have ever worked on. Phew! It has been tiring but definitely rewarding. On the brighter side, mind was void of all clutter to usher in 2009 by spending the evening with good friends than banging heads to thumping music in some underground pub! Or maybe age is catching up.

Hectic life and unscrupulous routine did have its evil side. I would go without food and sleep for couple of days at a stretch and my body metabolism shut down.. almost. Or maybe I devouvered like a glutton seeking solace in food. Same as what happened to Oprah but I am not 53 and nor do I have thyroid problems. The only similarity with Oprah is that weight problem is not just about food and exercise, it is also about the stress and feel good factor in life. No matter how less you eat and how hard you work out at the gym, you will see contradicting results if you don’t take time to address other aspects of life or you don’t have time to love yourself.

To cut the story short. I think I am going to be a 200 lbs soon if I don’t act now!

Yes, I have another chance to get it right in 2009.

After moving to NJ, the myriad of things that one has to do with moving to a new place had devoured my time. With spring setting in and weather getting nicer by the day, I decided to go camping. Few friends readily agreed to the thought and off we went on a Saturday morning to Delaware Water Gap, around 45 miles Northwest of New Brunswick.

Within an hour or so, we were at the entrance of the Camp Grounds. We pitched our tents while Fido sat under the car to beat the heat. Sun was rather getting intense as the day progressed. Soon we set out on the trail. The water gap is bisected by Appalachian Trail [AT] with several other smaller trails looping around it. One such trail is the Sunfish Pond trail via Mt. Tammany which we set out on. We walked at least 3 hours on the loop before getting back to our tents where we cooked, talked and retired. We dispersed the next day to our respective homes after a short jaunt to a local Vineyard. The Chardonnay was Oh So Refreshing!
